This week is Volunteers Week and it’s nearly been a whole year since we renamed our studio in honour of the late John Wilce.
John was a dedicated volunteer at Radio Glamorgan for 15 years and this Thursday (4th June) he would’ve been celebrating his 71st birthday.
To remember John, we’ve got an evening of special programmes lined up for you to listen to.
We do understand for some, that hearing John’s voice again may bring with it some upset.

7pm – Back in Time
Simon Field and John look back at the year of 2003, as part of Radio Glamorgan’s 50@50 series of shows that were originally broadcast in 2017.
8pm – Sgt Pepper Hour with John
This show was originally broadcast on the 50th Anniversary of the release of the album
9pm – RG Tributes
On the Sunday following Johns death in September 2018, Volunteers at Radio Glamorgan gathered to remember him. Hear just some of those who paid tribute during that evening.
10pm – The Johns present ‘All About The Beatles’
John was joined by former RG Volunteer John Gilheaney to take a look at the Fab Four in their own way.
