What a way to start 2025!
We have been shortlisted in five categories at this years National Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards including ‘Station of the Year‘ meaning we’re once again one of the top 10 hospital radio stations in the UK! We sit alongside two other Welsh hospital radio stations in the category with Radio BGM and Rookwood Sound also being shortlisted.
Lewis Fagg, who recently joined the on air team to present a show on a Wednesday afternoon (1-3pm) has been shortlisted in the ‘Newcomer’ category, whilst Andrew Woolfe who presents ‘The RG Night Train’ on a Saturday Night (amongst Music was my first love and contributing to the Midweek Mix) has been recognised in the Best Male category.
Andrew also gains a nod in the speech category for the special programme, ‘Just a little prick’ where he spoke to his brother David in a frank and honest chat about prostate cancer.
Finally, in a category we’ve had a history of doing well in, we’re featured in the ‘Station Promotion’ shortlist as well!
Jamie Pritchard, Chair of Hospital Radio Glamorgan said
“This is fantastic for the whole team and what a way to start 2025! Not just for us, but for Hospital Radio in Wales with our friends and neighbours at Rookwood Sound and Radio BGM being recognised. Bring on April when the results are announced in Hinckley!”
