As we wave goodbye to 2023 and say hello to 2024, as Chairman I wanted to take a moment to look back on the last 12 months.
I wanted to start by saying a HUGE thank you. Whether you’ve tuned in at any point to listen to any of our fantastic shows, whether you’re reading this and you’re a volunteer at the station or you’re one of our wonderful and valued sponsors, it’s really appreciated the support you give to Hospital Radio Glamorgan.
In short, we’ve done quite a bit this year.
We launched a brand new app (if you haven’t downloaded it yet, it really is great!) and we also unleashed the ‘RG Rewind’, our listen again service which is proving really popular.
Back in March, we picked up another three national awards which included silver in the Station of the Year category and golds in the best newcomer and best station promotion categories.
Week after week, we continued to bring to you a varied schedule of programmes, mixing it up a bit when it came to Bank Holidays or Christmas time which in turn has helped to boost our listening figures (so much so, they were record breaking in 2023!).
We also welcomed a few new volunteers to our ever-growing roster, but we also said a final goodbye to one of our longest serving too. Roger Thomas was a dedicated member of the station, who had been with us since 1992. Roger passed away in May, his charm, wit and enthusiasm we miss greatly.
As we look forward to the next 12 months and beyond, we hope you’ll continue to support us in any way you can. Whether that’s popping some money in one of our fundraising buckets when we’re out and about, making a secure donation via this website, sponsoring a show or two, or just continuing to tune in to our wonderful station.
A MASSIVE thank you and I wish you a very happy and healthy 2024,
Jamie Pritchard
Chairman, Hospital Radio Glamorgan
