Hospital Radio Glamorgan is partnering with the Vale’s local radio station, Bro Radio to broadcast live from the 2024 Cardiff Half Marathon.
On Sunday 6th October, the two stations will broadcast live from 9am outside The Deck on Penarth Marina.
Both stations will be encouraging participants through the four-mile mark of the marathon, with its teams stationed at various points around the 13.1-mile route, sharing the atmosphere, speaking to charities and families of runners live on Bro Radio and Hospital Radio Glamorgan.
Hospital Radio Glamorgan (Registered charity 504534) has been broadcasting since 1967 and broadcasts live from the University Hospital of Wales serving three hospitals that sit within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Much like Bro Radio who broadcast from studios in Barry and Llantwit Major, the station is manned by volunteers, who give their time to create an uplifting service for patients and the local community.

“This is a fantastic partnership, a great chance to pool resources and collectively cheer on the participants including two of our very own volunteers, Jayne Jones and Andrew Lowman-Jones who are taking part to raise money for our station!”

“It’s great to team up with Hospital Radio Glamorgan to bring this coverage to all of our listeners. The Deck has been brilliant at accommodating our outside broadcast vehicle for the morning and we can’t wait to encourage everyone running through the four-mile mark on Sunday.”
